My First Multiply Theme

Wednesday, September 9th, 2009

I’ve been meaning to make one for the longest time but the CSS coding style of Multiply is turning me off. It would have been better if classes used were properly documented in their help section but its not. Also, CSS codes will depend on what “Base” theme you’ve selected to use.

Now, after practicing with CSS codes for the past couple of days, lots of preview clicking and lots of source viewing I’ve finally come up with this:

As you can see, it uses lots of PINK. It’s my fave color after all. =) Not much since it’s my first try. The brush I’ve used for the header came from the free brush pack by melsbrushes. The terms did say it’s free for personal blogs. Thanks a lot! Next time I’ll make my own brushes. I gotta make this as a new goal. I’ll share it to others if I can make one, of course. =)

It’s functional, alright. But there still might be some more sections that needs a bit more tweaking. If only I’ll find out what classes/ids I really have to edit. Trial and error is sooooo time-consuming.

Well, as my mom would say: “There’s always a first time.” :-) I’ll try to make another one next time. Hopefully by that time I’d have full understanding on the way these classes/ids are used.

Site redesign

Sunday, July 5th, 2009

Now that my project is almost over, I’m thinking of finally starting my wordpress theme redesign. I’d probably start looking for plugins for a contact us page, too — or probably code it myself (need to thoroughly understand the way wordpress arrange the files first). Also, my MyBlogLog widget doesn’t seem to show up in my sidebar. I wonder what’s wrong…

Enough of that. I’ll be going out now so I’ll just check on it later… see if I can find a fix.

Edit:
Made my custom template already. I started tweaking the default Kubrick theme and came up with this. Still needs some improvement, though. Next time I’ll make one from scratch. =)

Sony Ericsson k750i/w800i Themes

I made these themes for my phone. Yeah, I know. My phone is obsolete already. But it’s still functioning well so I don’t wanna replace it yet. I’m kinda past the stage where I wanna get the latest model available. But eventually, I’ll have to get a new one… one that has got 3g, wifi, and a decent audio player and camera.

Anyway, here are some caps of the themes… They’re mostly from my fave shows. hehe… Gotta make more designs soon.

Custom Twitter Theme

Thursday, May 28th, 2009

This is my first post on something I’ve worked on and it’s about the twitter theme I’ve made. Ok, so it doesn’t seem much of a theme. Just a background and some color combinations but I didn’t really know that I can make my own until I’ve seen this blog post earlier: 40 Beautiful Twitter Themes. There are themes I like and some I don’t like and I thought I wanna try making my own, too.

So, I accessed my twitter and went to Settings –>Design. Aside from the pre-formatted simple themes, there were only two options. One is for the background image and another for site colors. I decided I’d start by making a test theme — you know, just for trying out if it works ok. I can’t think of a good design yet so I went to the artwork section of Photoshop Elements and scanned through the pre-installed backgrounds. I found one I like, modified the colors and added some details. I set the new background to the one I’ve made and changed the colors to match my new background. Here’s the result:

Yep. It’s kinda girly2x as of now. I’ll try to make other themes later. It’s just a test, after all.

Next, I’ll try to make my own custom wordpress theme, too…
